About the movie

Bradin, Nikki and Derrick are 3 kids from an average normal Kansas household. Their whole life is thrown upside-down when their parents are tragically killed in a car accident. Ava Gregory (their aunt) gets custody of her niece and nephews and they move into her Californian home (in Summerland). Ava, a struggling clothes designer, lives with her best friend and business partner, Susannah Rexford, her friend, an ex- pro.surfer, Jay Robertson and her ex-boyfriend, real estate agent, Johnny Durrant. All four of them are highly unequipped to handle children and are not use to including them in their everyday lives. The series follows each of their struggles through life. Ava is trying to get her fashion line to take off. Whilst also fighting feelings for Johnny, her childhood sweetheart. And now trying to bring up her sisters 3 children up as well as possible.

Summerland had a fresh and sometimes heart warming feeling and cast. Teens everywhere loved this television show and still continue to even though it is off the air. The cast gave an enthusiastic effort to make the episodes come to life. They completed that task all together and produces a superb show.

This is crazy. First you cancel the show, and then you say it might not even come out on DVD? I am completely *obsessed* with this show. And with Jesse McCartney becoming a teenage sex symbol, I think hundreds of millions of people--especially teenagers--would buy this DVD. Parents love this show too, and I think you would have millions and millions of people extremely pissed if you didn't come out with this on DVD.

"Michael Chabon recently dipped into genre (mystery, to be exact) with the less-than-stellar 'The Final Solution,' but this 2001 dive into children's literature produced one of the finest young adult novels in recent memory. What Chabon does so fantastically and with such a gleeful aplomb is write in the thematic and narrative style of Lewis Carroll and C.S. Lewis. This is not your typical, late-20th/early-21st century children's book. It's grammatically complex, dense, psychologically dark, and slow to its payoff (purposefully so, mind you). Chabon doesn't play ball, so to speak, and make this an easy to digest story - he plays it more maturely, and hence the general negativity directed at this book by a plethora of Chabon's fans. It's unconventional in this era of the simplicity of Harry Potter and Lemony Snicket. But, that is to say, horribly, delightfully welcome."
